SESTINA
iN JUST ANOTHER HOUR MY WRITING GROUP, THE WAYFARERS, WILL BE ARRIVING. I'M WORKING ON A SESTINA ABOUT THE FIFTH GRADE CLASS TRIP TO WILLIAMSBURG AND JAMESTOWN. IT IS EASY TO GATHER TOGETHER THE THOUGHTS, BUT I FIND IT QUITE DIFFICULT TO WORK IN THE PATTERN. CHECK IT OUT ON INTERNET...SIX STANZAS OF SIX LINES EACH IS EASY, BUT THEN THE PATTERN SWITCHES. kEEPING THE SAME ENDING WORDS AS IN FIRST STANZA, THE FOLLOWING STANZAS ARE: 6 1 5 2 4 3, 3 6 4 1 2 5, 5 3 2 6 1 4, 4 5 1 3 6 2, 2 4 6 5 3 1, THEN WITH AN ENDING THREE LINE STANZA (39 LINES IN ALL) CONTAINING WORDS 1 & 2,
3 & 4, AND 5 & 6. BETTER GO MAKE MY BED BEFORE THEY ALL GET HERE. HAVE A GOOD DAY YOU ALL.
